This policy focuses on ensuring that the right to quality education for all is upheld and that EFA and the MDGs are achieved. The pronouncements made in this document are meant to reflect the collective aspirations and development needs of the Gambian citizenry. In order to make this document realistic, apt and amenable the targets and precepts are linked to national policy frameworks as well as internationally acceptable principles and practice.
This report is a careful study of the challenges facing The Gambia as a nation and the Department of State for Education. It places the country's progress towards EFA targets and signalizes policy directions.
This strategic plan was developed in a participatory manner taking into account the present situation of HIV/AIDS, contributing factors to the spread of the virus and the lessons from past experiences. It will govern and coordinate all HIV related activities and programmes both in the public, NGO, private sector and civil society at large.
This is a proposal to seek support for an international project focusing on global health issues impacting on youth and children. The project aims at improving the health and well being of youth through empowering them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take responsibilitu for their own health.
This policy/guideline booklet attempts to address the social and ethical issues which may arise while taking public health measures to prevent and control the spread of HIV infection. It is expected to provide some guidance to physicians, health workers, and members of the legal profession, policy makers and all those who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
This paper was compiled to serve as a working document in the bid to preparing a comprehensive material on effective responses to HIV/AIDS. The purpose is to present the situation of HIV/AIDS in The Gambia, current intervention and future plans relating to HIV/AIDS.
